Don't think the new Dish Network dish really repels snow and rain. It's black and that means in theory snow might melt more quickly because of the heating effect of the sun. And as far as rain is concerned, it would not make any difference if it "repelled" all the rain. Rain fade is not caused by rain on the dish, it's caused by rain droplets in storm clouds between the dish and the satellite. Not much the dish can do about that.
