My son just bought a 1999 model MItsubishi Diamond 1080i VS45605 TV. I'm trying to connect it to our Genie HR44-500, but must be doing something wrong. I downloaded a manual for the TV, but it's so old there are no instructions to connect to satellite systems. The directions for connecting to "cable" says to connect the incoming co-axial cable to the tv and then connecting additional co-axial cables from the TV to the in and out connections on the cable box. Obviously, this won't work with the HR44-500, which has only on co-axial connection, the incoming line.
Here are the connections on the TV :
Antenna (ANT-A, and ANT-B; CABLE LOOP OUT (to connect to a component VCR), . (These are 3 co-axial connectors).
Component Connections, YCrCb and L/R mono Audio (for some reason it specifies that these are to connect a DVD).
Two S-Video pin connections and corresponding yellow, white, red connectors...
Another set of yellow/white/red connectors that are marked "Tuner/Monitor...Fixed/Variable Output".
I tried connecting the Component Connections and L/R Audio connections that were marked DVD to the Genie... but get no picture. All we can see are the TV menus. Any ideas on how to correctly connect this TV. The guy we bought it from said it has a great picture and is so simple to connect.... yea, right...
