I just installed the DirecTV app on a newly bought tablet running Android 4.2. It see's my HD-DVR via my home network and shows me what channel the DVR is currently displaying. I have set the DVR menu to "Allow" remote access. If I select any channel that I am paying for on the app it offers to send it to the tablet, but when requested I get the error "Video Stream temporarily unavailable. Please try again later(4100)" If I try to stream a channel I am not paying for it denies any access so it must be talking to the DVR.
The DVR is quite old. (5 years +?). It did recently upgrade itself to the new fancy GUI. That caused some problems but its been running Ok since I did a global reset.
