And, to expand a bit. If you do not have any Genie DVR's and if you have Whole Home DVR service, you cannot use a 3rd party wireless Ethernet adapter unless you also have a DECA BB adapter attached.

*** litzdog says, the white DirecTV remotes will only operate the HR44 and the clients in IR mode which means you have to aim them at the box. For RF you need the RC71.
