the GenieGo 2 has the capability to act as a CCK, I just don't think it has the updated firmware. If you feel adventurous and have a coax next to your router, you can give it a try, perhaps DirecTV® made the update and kept it hush hush....

I would try a double reboot, by unplugging the DVR twice. My best guess is your AM21 needs to be cleared and the best way to do that is by a double reboot. If you can clear your AM21 and start over like it's new, it should pick up the channels you're looking for. I say this because I've had an AM21 for 2 years and I've had problems similar to yours. In my case I've occasionally lost channels that are in the database for my DMA after a power outage or a software upgrade. Re-running the same or even different zips would never give me the channel back. I found by doing a double reboot by unplugging the DVR it would clear my AM21 completely and by starting with a clean AM21 I would get all my channels back. I don't know why this happens, but it worked for me.

Yes, the Genie is in the living room and we have a Mini in our two bedrooms. No It's just a normal house, we have our own dish. I'm not sure what model number the Genie is but can look if that would be of any help.

Where I come from you don't just spackle a hole in the middle of a wall ... you then paint over it. And if you don't have any matching paint, you then have to chip off a piece of the wall big enough so that a can of custom paint can be mixed. The OP clearly had a bad experience with DTV ... your sarcastic and dismissive response certainly didn't help.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunate it must be IR as the whole point of the wireless setup and the Genie out of site is sort of defeated. Hopefully someone will come along with an RF alternative to control the HR44 and the C41W.
Loving the DirecTV so far though, the picture Quality is far superior to Dish.

You could use the older remotes with an "RF Infrared Repeater". They're available from places like Radio Shack or Amazon. It will pick up your remote's IR signal, convert to RF to beam to another small box that converts the RF back to IR at your equipment location.

Genie Remote Question
How do you stop playback while viewing recorded program on genie remote? I know the universal remote you can just hit the stop button, but the Genie remote does not have a stop button.

Exit button will not stop a program while its recording. At least mine doesn't.

Exit will just take you out of it. If you want to go to the stop menu then pause it and then press the back button
